On 12/20/16, the Celtics defeated the Grizzlies 112-109 in a game that went into overtime. Isaiah Thomas had a career night, scoring his career high with 44 points. Al Horford also had a great game on the boards with 14 rebounds. The Celtics were able to outlast the gritty Memphis squad in overtime, where Isaiah shined as he always does in clutch situations. This was one of the Celtics toughest matchups of the season and they were able to pull away at the end to secure the win.
